Earth, Water, Fire and Air (Kraul)

I am pleased to see that Amazon is now selling Earth, Water, Fire, and Air by Walter Kraul, which features many fun and educational toys that children can make to explore the four elements. Herr Kraul is, of course, the mind behind several of the kits we feature in our Science and Discovery category, and I suspect that this book has influenced many other makers of scientific toys as well.

The projects range in difficulty from the very easy (a paper helicopter even simpler than the one I describe elsewhere) to the quite complex. There are projects for indoors and out, which is a boon to those of us in more northern climes. And for those who would like to try these toys out, but do not have the time or skill to start from scratch, there are the kits that will amuse and instruct even during the winter months indoors.
