Description
Dieters Holzspielzeug
Germany
Spinning is the basic method of producing threads for weaving, knitting and many other crafts. For centuries the simple hand spindle (a wooden rod with a weight) has been one of the most basic ways to spin, a technique used in nearly all cultures. This wonderful set will introduce children to this age-old technique, and will help foster an interest in crafting that will last a lifetime.
The somewhat uneven texture of the threads produced by handspinning lends itself especially to the weaving of decorative objects.
This basic handspinning set includes a wooden spindle, 100 grams (4oz) of carded sheep's wool in assorted colors, cotton thread to attach the wool, and instructions.
