Description
Ostheimer
Germany
St Martin and his handsome steed are the latest addition to the Ostheimer figures. He is dressed as a Roman horseman, with a removable cloak that can be divided in half, as it was in his famous legend:
As a Roman soldier of the 4th century, Martin was sent to Amiens in Gaul. There, on a bitterly cold day, he met with an ill-dressed and shivering beggar at the gates of the city. Stirred by compassion, Martin removed his cloak and cut it in half, giving one part to the beggar and keeping the other for himself.
This noble figure will enhance any Ostheimer castle scene and many a fairy tale as well! A beggar to use in reinacting the story of St Martin is also available.
Set includes St Martin (with movable arms and legs), sword, dividing cloak, horse with reins.
